RMC race in Levier

The time had finally come. I had to wait a long time for my first race of the year. On this beautiful, warm weekend, the 5th race of the RMC Switzerland took place in Levier, at the Circuit de l'Enclose race track. I started in a strong field of 17 riders. It was a rude awakening, as on Saturday, with my few days of training this year, I could barely keep up with the midfield. Sunday began again with rather modest lap times, which we were able to improve significantly in qualifying, but it was still only enough for 14th place on the grid. This was subsequently corrected to 13th place, as a rider at the front of the field received a penalty for a technical infringement. In the first heat, I managed to move up to 11th place. We used the lunch break to change the setup of the chassis and engine, which had a very positive effect on the handling. In the second heat, I felt for the first time that I could put pressure on the competitors in front of me. In the end, it was enough for 8th place. I can be really satisfied with my performance.
Thanks to everyone involved who contributed to my achievement.
